Tie-Dye Is In

One trend that's blooming this season are patterns and prints. From embroidered shorts to bold print shirts, louder pieces are becoming one of key pieces of many well dressed men's style.

To add more spice to your wardrobe, why don't we go way back to 1960's, loved by hipsters and wanna-be's across the world --- TIE-DYE.

Tie-Dye is making a comeback within the industry, and I'm pretty we are all familiar with tie-dye - some of you might have owned a few pieces or maybe our parents pretty much lived in it. Bold prints can easily make you and your outfit stand out from the crowd for it shows confidence and a fashion forward way of thinking. Same with tie-dye, it is a love or hate thing; it will either suit your style or it won't.

In fashion, there's no point in going out of your usual style and trying something new if it doesn't suit your personal taste, and you can't just go with the trend just because it's the 'next big thing'. Trust me, it's a waste of time, and money.

So, for all of you who feel that some tie-dye pieces would fill your taste and would slot effortlessly into your look, take baby steps before diving in because Tie-dye is a statement pattern and you wouldn't want people raising their eyebrows so better start with a fairly neutral colored tee and build up the patterns and colors where you feel more confident.

I highly suggest avoiding anything other than dip-dye pieces like shorts or shirts, as tie-dye can be overwhelming on more structured and larger items.

NOTE: DON'T MIX YOUR PATTERNS. TIE-DYE ON TIE-DYE IS NEVER EVER GOING TO WORK.

LOOKBOOK INSPIRATIONS

If tie-dye is in your taste, consider doing it yourself. It's pretty easy and is dangerously addictive. Below are some methods to make your own tie-dye.

1. Visit your local thrift store - don't waste or spend a lot of money on your base items as the results of this method is a bit unpredictable. Find some pieces that you can experiment on. Or maybe you can even look into your closet for pieces that you don't intend to wear anymore.

2. Use Bleach - bleaching a colored item is the only easiest way to tie-dye rather than dye-ing something plain. Take a plain, block-color tee, shirt or jumper put it in a bowl of bleach and hot water. BUT NOT BEFORE YOU HAVE TIED THEM UP! Hahaha!

3. Tie-Dye - rubber bands, hair ties, or just knot it up in whichever way you want. The bits that you tie will be the section that remain the original color and the rest will bleach. KEEP THAT IN MIND.

4. Dip-Dye Alternative - for this effect, dip the bit that you want to change color in the bleach and water solution and leave the rest hanging out the bowl. GO WILD AND DIP-DYE AND TIE-DYE THE SAME ITEM! :))

5. Soak and Wash - leave it in the bleach and hot water solution until the color begins to change. Remove it when you like what you see. Rinse it and wash it in the washin machine to remove the bleach.

You should also take note that the result of this is unpredictable, so you should lower your expectations.

Tie-dye is no doubt a passing trend. It's a fashion statement. It's by no means for everyone.

Below are some pieces from different brands.

STYLE TIPS: Printed Hoodies for Men

Who here are fans of hoodies? Or who loves to wear hoodies? Well, I am. I think hoodies are a highly versatile clothing item. It can be worn all year round, at any kind of weather. They can also be worn with many other clothing items and accessories, that would make any outfit undeniably stylish yet very casual.
Hoodies have different kinds of styles, colors and cuts. You can find hoodies that are plain, but there are also printed hoodies and they are highly stylish and trendy, and definitely not BORING.

For this blog post, I will be giving you some ideas and tips on how to wear printed hoodies. Printed hoodies can act as a great statement piece in any of your outfits. Some of these printed hoodies feature patterns such as  check print, stripes, polka dots, leopard print, zebra print, paisley print, floral print, and tiger print. You can also find hoodies that feature graphic prints, such as stars, hearts and images of animals, such as lions.

Printed hoodies, being bold items, can easily be paired with a number of clothings and accessories. If you're going to wear a printed and zipped hoodie, you can wear it unzipped and with a t-shirt underneath. NOTE: If you're hoodie is a printed one, it would be ideal to wear a plain t-shirt so that it does not clash with the hoodie. Also, it should also be in a color that compliments the color of your hoodie. Some example of colors that would perfectly compliment the color of a printed hoodie are neutral colored shirts, such as t-shirts in blacks, grey, white or beige.

You can also wear a vest or a tank top under your hoodie. If you are wearing a men’s hooded top, then you can also wear a t-shirt under that. Your t-shirt, or vest top, and hoodie can either be worn with jeans or even three-quarter length shorts. You can then combine them with a pair of casual shoes.

Here are some examples of printed hoodies that I found:

STYLE ICON: Nolan Ross of Revenge

One of the few additions here in my blog is the "STYLE ICONS" where I will blog about certain celebrities/characters from a series, etc. about their fashion endeavors and what I love about their style. And since I'm a guy, it's pretty natural for me to blog about guys ofc. Haha!

For our first Style Icon feature, he is a character from one of my favorite TV shows right now (REVENGE) love this show to death! Love the characters! -- going back, the character's name is Nolan Ross played by Model/Actor Gabriel Mann! The first time I saw the character of Nolan Ross in Season 1 I immediately knew that he's gonna be one of my favorite characters in the show, and it turns out that he's one of the major leading characters in this show! Haha.

We actually have one thing in common -- Nolan Ross is a computer nerd. Haha! He's a genius software inventor and computer hacker and Emily's (the main lead) trusted ally in her plot for revenge. We all know how nerds dress up in their usual way, but this guy is different! He dress up good and dapper! I salute Gabriel Mann for playing this character so well and with justice! Kudos! Knowing that he is a model, well, it's a plus!

Here are some photos.

Now tell me, who's not going to fall in love with this guy? Haha! I actually love the idea of the "POPPED COLLAR" thing, it looks so adorable and suits him well! Nolan Ross, is all about preppy, blazers, POPPED COLLAR SHIRTS, button downs, and boat shoes. So if you want to go for his style here's an idea of what you would want to wear.

MINUS THE WIG OF COURSE. HAHA! OR IF YOU WANT....
